Sales Tax Calculator is built so that your data never leaves your device.
What we collect
Nothing. The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Specifically:
- The ZIP codes, addresses, states, and amounts you enter are processed entirely inside your browser and are never uploaded.
- The sales-tax rate data is bundled inside the extension; lookups need no server and no API.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, cookies, advertising, or fingerprinting.
- The tool makes no network requests of any kind. There is no server, no database, and no account.
How your data is processed
All lookups and tax math run locally in your browser using bundled code and a bundled rate dataset. When you close the popup, nothing is retained.
Permissions
The extension requests no host permissions and no access to your browsing data. Clicking the toolbar icon opens a small popup with the calculator.
Third parties
None. No data is shared with any third party because no data is collected. Location names come from the GeoNames open dataset, bundled offline (CC BY 4.0).
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same location with a new effective date.
